History

BLTguestssofar1Shortly after September 11, 2001, I was back in Chicago walking Machito the dog and talking to my always-inspiring and kick-in-the-ass-ing sister. She wanted to know what was keeping me in NYC, what I wanted to do, what I cared about. After a series of defensive and defeated “I-don’t-knows,” I finally screamed back, “I. Don’t. Know! Beauty! Love! Truth!” The dog cowered.

She said, “then do that.” And since I love putting on a show (“Luuuucyyyy…”) that’s what I did.

I am very grateful to every name listed below, all the performers, bars, venues, and theaters who have helped us explore and heighten Beauty, Love, and Truth in the world. -Shannon
